L400XDS

Following the great success and acceptance of our compact L300/350XD models the L400XD at only 70" wide and 158" long is an industry exclusive in compact size and maneuverability for this capacity. With a rating of 40,000 lbs. base capacity @30" load center The L400XD is ideally suited for move-up customers with extended load centers and operating space limitations.

Additional features include:

• FEA engineer certified, approved to meet and or exceed ANSI/OSHA B56.1 safety requirements.

• Base engine is the General Motors 5.7 liter (350 c.i.) VORTEC 150 H.P. V8 equipped with a Donadlson Cyclopatic Air Cleaner.

• Exhaust muffler is a three way "clean burn" oxy catalytic - no customer complaints of propane smell or emissions.

• Cummins 6 BT 5.9 liter Turbocharged 6 cylinder Diesel (offered as an option).

• EPA Tier Two certified engine that produces an exceptional 530 ft. lbs. of torque at 1500 RPM.!!

• Extreme duty rated, Axle Tech (Rockwell) Planetary Drive Axle matched to the engine.

• Rockwell brake system using massive oil cooled, triple disc brakes with remote coolers.

• Lowry warrants the drive axle and brakes for a full three years or 3,000 operating hours subject to timely and accurate preventative maintenance procedures.

• Extreme duty rated transmission, Clark - Hurth, 32,000 series, electronic three speed, fully automatic powershift transmission with separate, precise, slow inching control and a selectable "bull low" gear for extreme torque and control.

• Transmission and powertrain are protected with a Dana/Spicer APC electronic speed and shift controller. The APC system prevents the operator from exceeding programmed safe speed and transmission shift parameters

• Fully rollered, "Super Clear View" mast assemblies designed to provide the operator with outstanding visibility through the mast.

• Mast assembly manufactured with massive, interlocking, 10" I Beam rails providing exceptional mast strength.

• Extreme duty rated carriage shaft style with six (6) carriage rollers and (4) side thrust rollers.

• Integral mount, dual function, side shifting fork positioner is offered as an option. The integral mount design allows full capacity without any addition to the length of the truck.

• Expanded operator's compartment, large control pedals, tilt and telescoping "light touch" power steering with a full suspension Grammer Seat are all features standard on the new L400XD.
